What should you taste when visiting Greece? Greek flavour No 3: Herbs


Herbs: Add them to boiling water in order to make a tea, or add them to your food in order to spice it. Sage, mint or chamomile tea, are the most famous, considered to be therapeutic especially for colds and flues but there is also a great range of wild species, picked up only by the locals, some of them claimed to fight even against cancer. On the other hand, oregano and thyme picked up from the Greek mountains are every cook’s little secret, for perfect spicing. Prices of the herbs are really low, due to their increased availability, making them eventually, easily affordable.
